Jinhua Xu was born in Shaanxi, China in 1998. He obtained his BSc in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2020. In 2023, he earned his MSc in Mathematics from Zhejiang University under the supervision of Prof. Jing Yuan and Prof. Dexing Kong, defending a thesis titled “Convex Optimization on Nonconvex TV Regularization with Applications”. This work explored mathematical frameworks for non-convex regularization and duality theory in total-variation models.
From 2023 to 2025, he served as a Research Assistant at the School of Mathematical Medicine, Zhejiang Normal University, where he focused on Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare and Image Processing. He participated in a cross-institutional program titled “Tracking Transvascular Ultrasound Probes in DSA Imaging”, which aimed to enhance real-time navigation for minimally invasive vascular interventions by integrating variational methods with deep learning architectures.
His main research interests include Mathematical Foundations of AI, Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, and Explainable artificial intelligence.
