Daniele Ghiani - PhD Student
Daniele Ghiani received his BSc degree in Electrical, Electronical and Computer Engineering in 2021, and his MSc degree in Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence in 2024 from the University of Cagliari discussing a thesis entitled “Regression-aware Continual Learning for Android Malware Detection”.
He is currently a PhD student in the Italian national PhD programme in AI at Sapienza University of Rome co-located at the University of Cagliari. His main research interests focus on Continual Learning applied to Malware detection on Android platforms, leveraging ML/DL techniques to automatically identify malicious samples. In this field he also investigates model regression issues that arise during model updates, aiming to ensure seamless performance transitions.
